Host a get-together this Christmas

Christians are being encouraged to host a get-together so no one is lonely this Christmas.
The gatherings replace the traditional combined church service or carols event.
The concept is simple: Invite neighbours, coworkers and other new friends to a social event; be it a barbecue at your place, a picnic in the park, or at a local cafe or restaurant.
Apart from building relationships, the get-togethers are expected to reveal personal or family needs that we may be able to meet as individuals or churches.
The only real way to find out is to listen.
Printed invitations you can personalise are available from participating churches.
Churches can also order food hampers through Loaves and Fishes Tasmania.
The hampers are filled with non-perishable goods to help struggling individuals and families during the period between Christmas and the first week of January when many charities are closed.
